Danville Teen Launches Website Offering Global Homework Help

Teenagers from across the world  are actively using a website that launched out of Danville earlier this year, focusing on peer-to-peer help with schoolwork.

TeenMesh was created by 15-year old Neil Gupta, and is used by over a thousand students in 70 different countries.

"Most teenagers have homework that our parents cannot really help with any more, and the only option left is to hire an expensive tutor," said Gupta, a junior at Monte Vista High School.

The platform allows users to post homework questions and respond to others in the structure of a forum. It's like an academic and updated version of Yahoo! Answers for teenagers, but with speedy responses.

The website is run by Gupta and classmates he met while attending the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India, as well as some from the San Ramon Valley. Their ages range from 15 to 13 years old and hail from Dublin, Calif. to Australia.

Gupta is enthusiastic about site growth in the last few months and the platform.

"Kids ask questions and answer other people's questions as well, so the common energy has been fantastic," he said.
