Danville Tree Lighting Goes Virtual

The 44th annual tree lighting event in Danville will not be held in person this year due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

DANVILLE, CA — Danville's 44th annual Lighting of the Old Oak Tree will take place online this year due to COVID-19-related restrictions, the town announced Tuesday.

In years past, Danville's tree lighting has drawn thousands.

A video of the virtual event will be posted here at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 25, with remarks from Mayor Karen Stepper, and Chamber Chairman of the Board Patricia Burgess. There will be a Danville Girls Choir performance and photos of previous tree lightings.
