After years of hearings and debates, the Danville Town Council approved a 2030 general plan early Wednesday morning.
The approved plan, which is a growth blueprint for the town until 2030, was modified significantly from its original version, as it designated less affordable housing than first proposed.

Multiple cameras captured an Alamo man beating his neighbor and pushing his wife to the ground, ultimately killing her, law enforcement officers and Contra Costa County prosecutors said Thursday during a preliminary hearing in the case against Michael Littman.

Littman, 59, is charged with murder and assault after police said he struck and fatally injured his next-door neighbor, 59-year-old Doris Penico, on the steep driveway between their homes in Alamo on Aug. 27, 2012.

Police Find Missing 83-Year-Old Danville Man
Nicholas "Paul" Tutino was found safe Wednesday in Frazier Park, Calif., after a resident called 9-1-1 reporting a suspicious subject. A California Highway Patrol officer responding to the call made the identification.
Tutino, 83, left his Danville home on Tuesday driving his gray 2006 Toyota Camry and his family worried, saying it is not normal for Tutino to leave in this manner.
Danville's Jordan Giusti Starts for St. Mary's in NCAA Tournament Victory
Former San Ramon Valley High star Jordan Giusti started his first collegiate game on Tuesday night and it came in St. Mary's biggest game of the season.
Giusti didn't get score, but played 37 minutes in the Gaels 67-54 victory over Middle Tennessee State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton, Ohio.
Giutsi started again on Thursday against Memphis, but the Gaels season ended with a two-point loss.
