Golden Tie Night Fundraiser Will Benefit Student Athletes In Need

Those who attend will have the chance to mingle with Kevin Durant and Draymond Green.

DIABLO, CA — An inaugural fundraiser scheduled later this month in Diablo will benefit deserving student athletes from the Contra Costa area. The first annual Golden Tie Night will be held at the Diablo Country Club at 7 p.m. on April 12. Golden State Warriors players Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and several other celebrity guests will attend.

Diablo resident Charlie Bell, Vice President of Roc Nation, is hosting the event. Bell, whose son plays basketball at San Ramon Valley Christian Academy in Danville, grew up playing basketball with Durant and is also friends with Green.

During a recent interview on 95.7 FM radio, Green talked about why he likes helping to raise money so kids can play sports.

Tickets to the fundraiser, which includes a walk down the red carpet, wine tasting and cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and auctions, are $500 and can be purchased online. The proceeds will help pay for coaching, club attire, equipment, special training, and travel expenses for student athletes in the Lamorinda Soccer Club who might otherwise not be able to afford to play at the highest level.
