
The number of foreclosure homes in Danville is down 75 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $155,000 less than non-foreclosure houses.
That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 94 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Danville with 83 of those houses for sale.
The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $690,000 in April. That number was steady from April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $845,000, up 3 percent from a year before.
In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in Danville was steady from April and down 73 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Danville in April were down 29 percent from the previous month but up 15 percent from the year before.
The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 712,000 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,000 have been vacated by their owners.
