Last Call to See '55" Images of Sea Level Rise' Exhibition in Danville

The Town of Danville presents '55" Image of Sea Level Rise' at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery until the closing reception April 23.

DANVILLE, CA- Time is running out to see the thought-provoking and beautiful exhibition currently on display at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery and the upcoming Closing Reception is a fantastic opportunity to see it. The Town of Danville presents 55” Image of Sea Level Rise, opened in March at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery and is set to hold a Closing Reception on April 23 before it travels to the South Bay.

55” showcases the work of two eco-conscious artists who have paired together to bring about awareness of climate change, which will lead to sea levels rising by 55 inches in the Bay Area by the year 2100. The artists are Jennifer Koney, who created a series of abstract paintings that all feature a 55 inch horizon line to illustrate in a concrete way what 55 inches really looks like, and photographer Oliver Klink, who is showcasing his photographs of Antarctica which feature wildlife such as penguins and the quickly changing landscape of melting glaciers.

A Closing Reception with guest speakers is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visitors will have one last chance to view the artwork and hear the Guest Curator and Artist, Jennifer Koney speak about her artwork and how she curated the exhibit. Featured at the panel discussion are: Beckie Zisser from Save the Bay, Maggie Wenger from SF Bay Conservation and Development Commission and Abigail Kroch, PhD, MPH, Contra Costa County Health Services Department.
