Legal Volunteers Needed For CoCo Mock Trial Program

The volunteers will help high-schoolers gain a working knowledge of the judicial system and learn and practice key skills.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Law professionals in the Bay Area - whether active or retired - are needed as volunteers for the 39th annual Contra Costa County High School Mock Trial Program in January and February.

The program last year had about 80 volunteers, including practicing and retired attorneys, sworn judges and third-year law students.

The group helped high-schoolers gain a working knowledge of the judicial system and learn and practice key skills.

Contra Costa County high schools participating this year are Acalanes High in Lafayette, Alhambra High in Martinez, California High in San Ramon, Campolindo High in Moraga, Carondelet High in Concord, DeAnza High in Richmond, Deer Valley Law Academy in Antioch, Dougherty Valley High in San Ramon, El Cerrito High in El Cerrito, Hercules High in Hercules, Heritage High in Brentwood, Kennedy High in Richmond, Las Lomas High in Walnut Creek, Miramonte High in Orinda, Monte Vista High in Danville and Richmond High in Richmond.

This year's Mock Trial will be headquartered at the A.F. Bray Courthouse, 1020 Ward St. in Martinez.
