In Memory Of Jerry 'Steve' Barnett
The Danville Police Department sadly announced the passing of the dedicated volunteer.
DANVILLE, CA – The Danville Police Department this week announced the passing of Jerry Stephen "Steve" Barnett, a longtime volunteer with the agency and recognized as "2014 Volunteer of the Year" due to his outstanding service.
"Steve was a part of our family, working as a 'VIP' (Volunteer In Policing) from March 2012 to December 2016," the department said. "As a VIP, he patrolled his community, assisted the department in special events, and conducted vacation house checks among other duties.
"Steve was a bright personality in the department, and he will be truly missed. Please join us in offering our heartfelt condolences to the Barnett family."
