Monte Vista High Varsity Lacrosse Captains Hold Training Camp To Benefit Players In Oakland
Proceeds from the camp will go to the Oakland Lacrosse Club.
DANVILLE, CA — The captains of the Monte Vista High School varsity lacrosse team are holding a lacrosse camp in Danville to raise money for fellow lacrosse players in Oakland. The Monte Vista High School Men’s Lacrosse Captain’s Camp will donate all of the camp fees to the Oakland Lacrosse Club, which is a nonprofit that aims to make it possible for every child in Oakland to play lacrosse.
Hunter Perkins and Carson Bull started the camp in 2016 and donated about $900. The group hopes to attract lacrosse players from all over to attend and increase donations.
"The Oakland Lacrosse Club appreciates the initiative and leadership of the young men from the Monta Vista Lacrosse program," Kevin Kelley Founder, Executive Director of the Oakland Lacrosse Club told Patch. "It is clear that they are passionate and they want our players from Oakland to get the same opportunities and experiences that lacrosse has offered them. The proceeds from the camp support Oakland Lacrosse in continuing to offering a wholistic program that includes lacrosse, college and career exploration, and academic support to youth from Oakland Public Schools. Thank you to the Monta Vista Lacrosse Community for your continued support."
