Police Seek Driver Involved In Hit-And-Run Injury Crash In Danville

Police said a motorist on Diablo Road hit the two people on bicycles pedaling in the same direction.

DANVILLE, CA — Two people on bicycles were struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in a hit-and-run collision in Danville and police are asking for help finding the vehicle and the driver, the city's police chief said. Someone called police at 2:01 p.m. to tell them that a collision occurred on eastbound Diablo Road and Clydesdale Drive, Chief Allan Shields said.

A motorist on Diablo Road hit the two people on bicycles pedaling in the same direction. One person was airlifted to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and the other was taken by ambulance to the John Muir Medical Center campus in Walnut Creek.

Shields said police were told that both victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle initially stopped but then drove away. The vehicle was described as a silver Ford Escape or a similar SUV.
