Roadwork Underway on Camino Tassajara

Motorists using westbound Camino Tassajara will be seeing increased work beginning Oct. 3 as the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) project shifts into high gear.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 3, crews will begin grinding work on the westbound roadway in a section that spans from Hansen Ln. to Parkhaven Dr. Work begins at 9 a.m. and will involve lane closures. Signage and traffic control will be on site to maintain the flow of traffic through the area.

The existing bicycle lanes will be removed and replaced to ensure the safety of cyclists through the work zone. While those lanes are being replaced, there will be sections where motorists and cyclists will need to share the roadway. Motorists are advised to use extra caution in the work zone for both the cyclists and the work crews.

SAFETEA-LU work will include pavement overlay, roadway base repair, striping and the replacement of vehicle detectors at intersections along Camino Tassajara. The project is expected to be completed in October 2016.
