San Ramon Valley Boulevard Roadwork Starts Today, Will Continue For a Couple Months

As part of the Quail Ridge subdivision construction, roadwork is expected on San Ramon Valley Boulevard for the next couple months.

Though the traffic isn't expected to be extreme, it's going to take a little longer than usual to go north and south on San Ramon Valley Boulevard for the next couple of month.

The roadwork is due to installing underground utilities for the new subdivision being built near the Danville-San Ramon border, named Quail Ridge.

The roadwork will be done between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The installation of the utilities is being paid for by the developer, not the town.

"They will be installing water and sewer pipes running parallel down San Ramon Valley Boulevard," said Michael Stella, the senior civil engineer for Danville. "One lane will be closed and the other lane will be open for traffic, with a flagger directing traffic."

Stella said he doesn't expect the traffic delay to last "more than a minute or two."

The installation of the utilities is being paid for by the developer, not the town. Quail Ridge is expected to open model homes in the spring.
