Street Closures Scheduled As Car Show Rolls Into Danville

Several downtown streets will close this weekend for the first of two Hot Summer Sundays Car Shows. ​

DANVILLE, CA — Officials are reminding Danville residents and visitors that several downtown streets will close this weekend for the first of two Hot Summer Sundays Car Shows. The event takes place Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and motorists are advised that there will be heavier than usual pedestrian traffic. Road closures will vary depending on staging and event activity, but the following shutdowns are scheduled:

Sunday, 8 - 11 a.m.:

Hartz Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Linda Mesa Avenue

Sunday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.:

Hartz Avenue between Linda Mesa Avenue and School Street
Diablo Road between Hartz Avenue and Rose Street
Prospect Avenue between the Clock Tower Municipal Parking Lot entrance and Front Street
Church Street between Railroad Avenue and the Village Theatre Municipal Parking Lot
Hartz Avenue northbound from Hartz Way to School Street

Drivers can use Railroad Avenue or Front Street as alternate routes through the downtown area and to public parking lots. Free parking is available in all municipal parking lots surrounding the venue, with no time restrictions during the event.

Following the completion of the car show, crews will clean the streets and will reopen all roads no later than 5 p.m., Town officials said.
