It's one of Danville longest running traditions and thousands came out to enjoy it for another year on Friday.
The Town of Danville and the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the annual lighting of the Oak Tree to kickoff the holiday season.
Thousands of all ages were downtown as they they enjoyed Christmas carols, hot cider and coca and an appearance from the man himself, Father Christmas.
