$2.75 Million Pavement Improvement Plan Work Starts Wednesday

The plan to repave several Danville streets will begin Wednesday.

In August, the Danville Town Council approved a $2.75 million plan to repair and upgrade damaged asphalt concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb and drainage systems throughout the town.

This work is part of an on-going effort to keep all 301 lane miles of public streets in a serviceable condition, the town said in a press release.

On average, the town devotes an annual budget of about $1.2 million to this effort.

The first work to be done on Wednesday will be on Camino Tassajara near Sycamore Valley Park, said Steve Lake, the Development Services Director and a city engineer for the town. The work will be done between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

On Thursday, workers will begin to repave Camino Tassajara near Diablo Vista Middle School.

All the road work is expected to be completed by July 2013, according to the town.

Street repair locations are selected based on the individual pavement condition, as well as the overall condition of the surrounding neighborhood, the town says.
