16-Year-Old Arrested For Exposing Self Near Covell Park

A woman who was walking on the greenbelt near Covell Park Tuesday evening saw a young male masturbating just off the bike path, according to the Davis Police Department.

The woman confronted the male around 8:40 p.m., and then continued to walk, calling the police soon after. The male left the area.

“An officer searching the area stopped a male juvenile matching the description of the suspect,” said Davis Police Lt. Glenn Glasgow in a release. “After further investigation, it was determined that the subject stopped by the officer was the correct individual. The male juvenile, who is 16 years old, was placed under citizen’s arrest. After being processed, the juvenile was released to a parent with a citation.”

Police say this incident doesn’t appear to be related to a similar incident that took place on September 30th near Bella Casa Street and Catalina Drive

The name of the male suspect is not being released due to his age.
