From Davis Police Department
The Davis Police Department, in cooperation with the US Drug Enforcement Administration, are taking back unused and unwanted prescription medication.Â
WHEN:Â
October 26, 2013 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pmÂ
WHERE:Â
The Davis Police Department—2600 5th St.Â
WHY:Â
* Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse.Â
* Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision.Â
* The majority of teenagers abusing prescription drugs get them from family and friends – and the home medicine cabinet.Â
This drop-off site will be accepting liquid medication and prescription pills; we will not be accepting syringes. If you would like more information on how to properly dispose of prescription medication, you may go to:Â http://water.epa.gov/scitech/swguidance/ppcp/upload/ppcpflyer.pdf
