Break-Down at Cache Creek Casino Ends in Drug Arrest

A Citrus Heights man and a man from Kelseyville were allegedly found with 16 pounds of marijuana.

Two men went to jail Thursday after police discovered that they were allegedly in possession of 16 pounds of marijuana along with other drugs.

Yolo County Sheriffs arrested Cody Lee Shermantine, 22, of Citrus Heights, and on suspicion of transportation and possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. They also arrested Dylan Thomas Bacon, 34, of Kelseyville, on suspicion of transportation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The duo was stranded at the south parking of Cache Creek Casino resort at 7:25 a.m., when the deputies found them. During the encounter, the deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies searched the vehicle, and found 1.41 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and 16 pounds of marijuana, according to the Sheriff's Department. 

Both men were transported and booked into custody at the Yolo County Jail. Shermantine’s bail was set at $20,000. Bacon’s bail was set at $110,000. Shermantine and Bacon are scheduled to be arraigned at the Yolo County Superior Court House today.
