Davis Killings Still Unsolved: Police Look Into Calaveras County Girl’s Stabbing Death
Chip Northup and Claudia Maupin were found in their bed, brutally stabbed and with their faces cut.

The children of Davis homicide victim Chip Northup gave an interview with CBS13 on Monday. Northup and his wife, Claudia Maupin, (the childrens' step mom) were stabbed to death in their south Davis home three weeks ago.
The crime remains a mystery.Â

In the video above, Jim and Mary Northup elaborate on the nature of the brutal stabbings that left their parents dead.Â
"They mutilated them," said Jim Northup in the interview. His sister, Mary, adds, "They were stabbed multiple times. Their faces were slashed."Â Â

Police are also investigating whether the Davis killings might be related to the stabbing death of 8-year-old Leila Fowler in Calaveras County last week. The investigation into Fowler's death is "getting close," according to the Calaveras County Enterprise.Â
Davis Police confirm that they have been in contact with authorities about that crime, but no direct links have been found.
