Davis Police Investigate Possibly Tainted Drinks

The "effects of what may be a currently unknown drug" landed three young women in an area hospital, Davis police said.

DAVIS, CA — Police in Davis are investigating whether someone is tainting drinks at downtown Davis restaurants after three young women reported feeling like they'd been drugged, according to a Davis Police Department statement. The incidents were reported within the last three weeks and involved similar symptoms, police said.

Two of the women reported symptoms including blacking out after consuming drinks at the Wunderbar on G Street. Police said the women's symptoms were not consistent with how much they said they had to drink.

The third woman reported experiencing similar symptoms after having a drink at Bistro 33.

The "effects of what may be a currently unknown drug" landed all three of the women in an area hospital, police said.

"The Davis Police Department is investigating these cases and will be conducting increased foot patrols at downtown bars/restaurants," Davis police said.
