Driver Injured In Dump-Truck Rollover At Yolo County Landfill
Firefighter-paramedics with UC Davis and the city of Davis were among emergency personnel who responded.
YOLO COUNTY, CA — A dump-truck driver was injured Wednesday in a rollover crash at the Yolo County Landfill. The solo-vehicle crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the landfill located at 44090 County Road 28H in Woodland, according to a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.
A 49-year-old Elk Grove man employed at the landfill was driving a Volvo Articulated dump truck when for an unknown reason, he lost control causing the truck to roll over onto its roof, CHP Officer Rodney Fitzhugh said.
Firefighter-paramedics with UC Davis and the city of Davis were among the emergency personnel who responded to the landfill.

The driver was taken to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of injuries described as minor, Fitzhugh said.
CHP officers conducted a preliminary investigation which indicated the driver was wearing his seat belt. However, they were not immediately able to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the truck, according to Fitzhugh.

Cal/OSHA, a state agency often tasked with investigating workplace incidents, is not handling this one, a spokesperson told Patch.
"Cal/OSHA was notified of the incident yesterday but has not opened an investigation as the accident happened on a public roadway and is being investigated by CHP," said Cal/OSHA Spokesman Luke Brown.
