Duo Arrested on Suspicion of Drug Possession at Yolo County Rest Stop

Police found 11.5 pounds of marijuana in a subsequent search of the vehicle.

Two people went to jail Tuesday on suspicion of drug possession. 

Yolo County Sheriff's deputies contacted two people -- identified as Scott Bradley Ridenour, 29, and Taylor Nicole Jauch, 19, both of Eureka --  in a vehicle parked at the southbound Tony Diaz Memorial Rest Stop along I-5 at 7:45 a.m. 

"The deputy observed the vehicle displaying expired registration," a Yolo County Sheriff's press release stated. "During contact with the subjects, the Deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle."

A search of the vehicle revealed 11.5 pounds of marijuana, .49 grams of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Ridenour and Jauch were arrested on suspicion of  possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. Ridenour also had an outstanding warrant out of Humboldt County for Grand Theft.

The duo was transported and booked into custody at the Yolo County Jail. Ridenour’s bail was set at $125,000. Jauch’s bail was set at $50,000. Ridenour and Jauch are scheduled to be arraigned at the Yolo County Superior Court today, October 3, 2013.
