FBI Continues Search For Weaverville, Durham Bank Robber

The FBI continues the hunt for a man they believe robbed banks in Weaverville and Durham last month.

NAPA COUNTY - The FBI continues the hunt for a man they believe robbed banks in Weaverville and Durham last month.

According to the FBI, around 1 p.m. on Monday, May 9, the robbery suspect entered the Umpqua Bank located at 641 Main Street in Weaverville.

The FBI says the robber displayed a black handgun and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities say the suspect fled the location.

Four hours later, federal authorities say the suspect entered the Tri Counties Bank, located at 9411 Midway in Durham.

Again, using the same modus operandi, the suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money.

Once again, after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the location.

During the commission of most of the robberies, the FBI says the suspect has worn dark-colored clothing and a hat - frequently a knit cap and has carried a backpack or messenger-style bag. He wore a wrap-around, sport-style sunglasses during the May 9 robberies in Weaverville and Durham.

The FBI has released the following description of the suspect:

  • Height: 5'10" to 6'0"
  • Weight: Approximately 160 pounds
  • Sex: Male
  • Build: Medium
  • Complexion: Light
  • Race: White
  • Age: 20s to 30s

The FBI says the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
