I-80 Crash In Davis Kills 3, Badly Injures Another: CHP

Three people were killed and one was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday night off Interstate 80 in Davis, the CHP says.

YOLO COUNTY, CA -- Three people were killed and another person seriously injured when a car struck a tree off Interstate 80 in Davis on Friday night, the California Highway Patrol said May 13.

The crash was reported abut 10:53 p.m. near Olive Drive on westbound I-80, according to the CHP’s Woodland office. Arriving officers found a male driver and two female passengers who were fatally injured when the 2006 Chrysler they were in struck a tree near the right shoulder.

The car swerved from the far left lane across all three lanes of traffic, and then the driver's side of the car hit the tree, a CHP investigation found.

A third passenger, identified as an 18-year-old Sacramento man, was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries.

The CHP says that identities of the three deceased victims will be made available by the Solano County coroner’s after their families have been notified.

The man who survived was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, the CHP said.
