Ravioli, Pasta Recall In CA: Nearly 39K Pounds Of Meat, Poultry, Cheese Varieties Need Tossing

The recall is from a Bay Area company for products sold from September through Jan. 20 at stores statewide.

Home Maid Ravioli Company, Inc., a South San Francisco-based firm, is recalling approximately 38,950 pounds of meat and poultry ravioli and pasta products produced without federal inspections and due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced this week.

Some of the products contain whey, a known allergen, and pork, neither of which are declared on the product labels.

These items were sold at retail locations in California, including.

This is a Class 1 recall, meaning there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.

The Home Maid brand ravioli and pasta items were produced on various dates between Sept. 18, 2015, and Jan. 20, 2016.

There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption, but consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to eat them.
