Saylor Campaign With Most Cash-On-Hand in Latest Filing, Just Weeks Before Ballots Sent Out To Voters

Davis, CA – State campaign finance records show Don Saylor’s campaign for State Assembly continuing to lead all candidates with the most available cash-on-hand in the race for Assembly in District 4. His campaign had $98,814 available cash-on-hand in the second reporting period of the year ending on April 23rd. His opponent, Dan Wolk, reported accruing $41,577 in debt, leaving only $70,665 in available cash-on-hand and Cecilia Aguiar-Curry reported accruing $13,456 in debt, leaving $11,477 in available cash-on-hand. Saylor also had the most cash-on-hand in the previous reporting period that ended in December 2015. Overall, the Saylor campaign has raised $239,505 to reach voters and has no outstanding debts.

In recent months, Saylor’s campaign has continued to gain momentum. Saylor launched an extensive digital ad campaign that reached hundreds of thousands of voters across the assembly district. His campaign has also interacted directly with thousands of voters across the district through voter contact fueled by a team of volunteers.

Saylor said of his campaign’s growing momentum, “I’m running for Assembly to help all of our communities thrive, so the California Dream is within reach for our most vulnerable populations. My campaign’s strong performance is a reflection of the wide-breadth of support I’ve received from across this six-county district.”
Saylor has been endorsed by the California Federation of Labor, SEIU California, California State Controller Betty Yee, California State Treasurer John Chiang, and California State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones. Dozens of local elected officials are supporting Saylor’s candidacy, including Napa County Supervisor Brad Wagenknecht, Lake County Supervisor Anthony Farrington, Yolo County Supervisor Matt Rexroad, Colusa County Supervisors Kim Vann, Denise Carter and Sonoma County Supervisors Susan Gorin, James Gore, Shirlee Zane, James Gore, and Efren Carrillo.
Saylor has dedicated his life to public service. Since 2011, he served on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. Between 2004 and 2010, he was mayor and councilmember in the City of Davis. He served as a trustee of the Davis Joint Unified School District from 1995 to 2003. Saylor has also chaired the Sacramento Area Council of Governments and was previously a legislative analyst for the California Legislature.
