Senator Bill Dodd: April is Donate Life Month
Organ donations save lives. Are you signed up for California's organ, eye and tissue donor registry?

Organ, eye and tissue donations can save lives. In fact, one person can save the lives of up to eight people as an organ donor, restore sight to two people through cornea donation and heal others through tissue donation.
"I hope you'll consider giving the gift of life by becoming an organ donor," said Senator Bill Dodd.
During National Donate Life Month, Donate Life organizations around the nation work to bolster donor roles by educating and motivating individuals to register their decision to be a donor.

The need is urgent:
- California ranks first among all states with approximately 23,000 men, women and children on the organ transplant waiting list.
- Of those on the transplant list in California, 85% are in need of a life-saving kidney.
- On average, 22 people die each day in the U.S. (about 7,600 each year) because the organ they needed did not come available for transplant in time.
YOU can help in the fight to give more people on the waiting list hope that they too, will get their second chance at life.
