Suspect Arrested For Attempted Sexual Assault In Davis
The Sacramento man is accused of attacking a woman walking on a greenbelt. Police believe additional victims exist, ask them to come forward

DAVIS, CA — A Sacramento man was arrested Monday, accused in an attempted sexual assault earlier this month of a female in Davis, who managed to talk her way out of the attack, according to authorities.
On Aug. 3, a woman reported she was walking at about 11:30 p.m. along a greenbelt, near the 1600 block of Drew Circle, when she was grabbed from behind and dragged to the ground by a man, later identified as Jose Trinidad Perez Meza, 36, the Davis Police Department said.
The suspect allegedly took her phone, threatened to shoot her and then attempted to sexually assault the victim, "however she was able to negotiate with him, and he stopped his attack," police said.
