Tow-Truck Driver Dies In Hwy 16 Crash In Yolo County

He was "not able to slow, stop or turn his vehicle in time" to avoid the collision on SR-16 at County Road 94B, the CHP said.

YOLO COUNTY, CA — A Woodland tow-truck driver died Tuesday afternoon in a collision on state Highway 16 west of Woodland when he was unable to avoid a car crossing the road in front of him, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 4:04 p.m., a Davis woman in a 2015 Subaru crossover stopped at the stop sign on southbound County Road 94B at the intersection with SR-16, then attempted to drive south across the intersection to continue on County Road 94B, CHP Officer Rodney Fitzhugh said.

The Woodland man was driving eastbound in a 2020 International tow truck, just west of the intersection, and was "not able to slow, stop or turn his vehicle in time," Fitzhugh said.
