UC Increases California Resident Enrollment Following Criticism

The University of California announced a 15% increase in California resident students and 7.7% more from out-of-state following state audit.

The University of California announced Monday that they have accepted 15% more California resident students for the fall of 2016, with significant increases in Latino and African American students, according to the LA Times.

This comes on the heels of heavy criticism in the California State Auditor’s report that noted increased out-of-state student admission last year making it more difficult for California residents to gain admission to universities.
