2 Arrested In Shooting, Robbery Of Dublin Resident, Police Say
A rifle and four illegal guns were found upon the execution of a search warrant, police said Friday.
DUBLIN, CA — Dublin police said officers arrested Thursday two people in connection with an alleged robbery and shooting of a Dublin resident. Officers also recovered four illegal handguns and a rifle, police said.
Michael A. Roy Jr., 19, and a 17-year-old boy, whose name has not been released because of his age, have been booked into Santa Rita Jail and juvenile hall, respectively, police announced Friday. Detectives continue to investigate to track down a third person reportedly involved in the incident.
Police believe they are responsible for similar crimes elsewhere, said Dublin Police Capt. Nate Schmidt.

Roy could not be released on bail as of Friday and faced six felonies including attempted murder, robbery and assault with a firearm, plus a misdemeanor charge of trying to conceal evidence, jail records show. The unnamed juvenile is facing similar charges, police said.
Roy is facing an additional group of six felony charges including carjacking, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing an illegal assault weapon in a case that remains under investigation by Oakland police, Schmidt said.

Roy has arraignment dates scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
Roy and the 17-year-old were found among those in a group congregating in an Antioch home, police said. A search warrant was obtained and the guns were found, police said.
The arrests date back to an incident called in around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. A 60-year-old man was shot after trying to retrieve his items following a robbery, police said. He underwent surgery and is expected to recover. He was in stable condition and remained hospitalized as of Thursday.
The victim was followed home after shopping from Oakland and elsewhere, Schmidt said.
He parked his car at his home in the area of Clifden Court when he was approached by three males who demanded he hand over his belongings, police said. They assaulted him, robbed him and ran to a nearby car, police said.
