2 Dublin City Council Seats Up For Grabs
A slew of fresh faces are looking to join the city council ranks as two incumbents run for mayor.
DUBLIN, CA — With two seats up for grabs on the Dublin City Council, nine political newcomers are looking to step into the ring.
Here are the candidates: Shawn Costello, game tech; Lucrecia Deleon, insurance broker; Razi Hansi, businessman and realtor; Sherry Hu, educator, entrepreneur and engineer; Michael McCorriston, corporate and nonprofit treasurer; Sri Muppidi, technology investor; Dawn Plants, retired construction administrator; Kashef Qaadiri, scientist and cloud architect; and Samir Qureshi, global operations executive.
Incumbent councilmembers Arun Goel and Melissa Hernandez are not seeking re-election, as they are running to serve as mayor of Dublin. Mayor David Haubert is not seeking another term as he faces off against Fremont City Councilmember Vinnie Bacon in the Alameda County Board of Supervisors District 1 race.
