DUBLIN, CA — A popular Dublin sushi restaurant celebrated their grand reopening Saturday afternoon. Amakara, which means "sweet and spicy" in Japanese, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony five weeks after moving from their original Dublin location. Meal service started after the traditional breaking of the taru barrel, which was filled with sake.

The eatery is now located at 7568 Dublin Blvd. on the first floor of the Aster residential complex. Amakara has been in Dublin since March of 2008 and serves lunch, dinner and cocktails. The new location has space for 170 guests.

The Coach's Grille, a family sports restaurant, will eventually open in the building formerly occupied by Amakara. An exact opening date is not yet known and renovations are underway, according to city officials.
