City of Dublin officials and Dublin Little League representatives were in attendance to mark the occasion. The new amenities, include scorekeeper booths and permanent shade structures over the dugouts. Concrete walkways were also introduced as well as machines for time and scorekeeping.

The Mayor of Dublin, David Haubert remarked that Dublin is a great place to live, work and play sports and these amenities would enhance the sporting experience of athletes. This investment in parks and services goes a long way in growing Dublin pride in the community.

Both speakers mentioned a lifetime of work by Bob Abbey, who has been involved in Little League in the community from 1974. Bob, a long time Dublin resident who was present for the unveiling, said that the support from the City has been amazing and that maintenance of the baseball facilities was very important. Bob has served as Little League President and enjoys working with baseball players, especially in the upper divisions (11 - 16years). He is involved with the Intermediate Baseball World Series held in Livermore which requires fundraising to the tune of $200,000.00 per year.

The weather cooperated well and the bright morning sunshine showed off the new amenities in the best possible light. Treats were distributed by City staff and were on theme with cookies displaying baseball designs.
