CHP officials said the big-rig crashed into a tree and a metal chain-link fence.

DUBLIN, CA — A truck driver was killed when his big-rig veered off of a highway and crashed onto a city street in Dublin on Sunday morning, according to California Highway Patrol officials. Around 6:55 a.m., a San Jose man was driving a 2013 Freightliner on southbound Interstate Highway 680.
According to CHP officials, his big-rig veered to the right on the highway just north of Alcosta Boulevard and crashed into a car parked on the shoulder. The big-rig continued and crashed into a tree and a metal
chain-link fence.
The truck came to rest facing north in the southbound lanes of San Ramon Valley Boulevard. The driver was killed in the crash, CHP officials said. The street was closed until 5:10 p.m. because of a hazardous
material spill from the crash, CHP officials said.
