14-Acre Brush Fire Fully Contained Near Livermore

LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters made quick work of a brush fire that threatened structures Tuesday afternoon in unincorporated area near Interstate 580 at N. Livermore Avenue.

The blaze was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m., and crews from Alameda County Fire Department, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, Cal Fire and Camp Parks responded with ground crews, according to Alameda County Fire Department Division Chief John Walsh.

The blaze threatened some structures in the area, but there was no damage or injuries, according to Walsh.

Crews were able to fully contain the fire at 14.6 acres, he said.

Crews are expected to remain on scene into the late afternoon.

Walsh said freeway traffic is slow but no lanes are currently blocked.
