Celebration Of Life Planned For Dublin’s Late Vice Mayor
Residents are invited to remember Don Biddle, who died following a brief battle with cancer.

DUBLIN, CA — A funeral service will be held in Dublin this week for Vice Mayor Don Biddle. Biddle died on Feb. 21 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. The celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on March 1 at the John Knox Presbyterian Church in Dublin. City officials said there will be a military gun salute during the funeral in honor of Biddle's two years of service with the Army Corps of Engineers.
The city with host a reception at the Shannon Community Center following the service. The community is invited to both. Those who attend are asked to wear vibrant colors.
Biddle served on the city council for more than nine years after he was appointed in 2008. The longtime resident was a beloved fixture in the Dublin community. The city flag will remain at half staff until his internment. He is survived by his wife, Donnamarie, his two daughters, Patricia and Sandee, and his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), to honor their son Bruce, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver in Dublin at the age of 17. Write or drop off at the City Manager’s Office, located at 100 Civic Plaza in Dublin.
