COVID-19 Vaccination Megasite Opens At Alameda County Fairgrounds

PLEASANTON, CA — An appointment-only COVID-19 vaccination megasite has opened at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
Eligible patients include health care workers and Alameda County residents who are ages 65 and older. Anyone interested in setting up an appointment can learn how to do so here through the Alameda County Public Health Department, Stanford Health Care-ValleyCare or Sutter Health.
Patients should arrive at Gate 8 of the fairgrounds, which is located off of Valley Avenue near the intersection with Bernal Avenue. Staff will direct people to the vaccination area upon arrival.

Officials emphasize that drop-ins are not allowed. Appointments are required because the supply is so limited.

Alameda County intends to next begin vaccinating essential workers in Phase 1b, Tier 1 of the vaccination priority system. That includes people who work in education and childcare, agriculture and food, and emergency services.
Nearly 250,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Alameda County as of Tuesday, county data show. That includes 185,000 first doses.
There have been 78,700 COVID-19 cases reported among Alameda County residents since the beginning of the pandemic. More than 1,100 deaths in the county have been linked to the coronavirus.
