DHS Student Wins Medal At World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships
Sophomore Michael Chiu represented the United States in Taipei, Taiwan.
DUBLIN, CA — A Dublin High School student recently brought home a silver medal after competing in the 2018 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Taipei, Taiwan. Sophomore Michael Chiu earned the medal in the Freestyle Mixed Team Under 17 division.
Chiu, 15, won gold and silver medals while competing in the 2018 USA Taekwondo National Championship in Utah on July, which qualified him to compete in Taiwan in November. The Poomsae Championships were held on Nov. 15-17.
Chiu started training at Sky Martial Arts in Dublin when he was seven years old.
