DUBLIN, CA— Did you see the dramatic double rainbow? Although cell phone photographs never seem to do them justice, we captured a shot of the fleeting double rainbow spotted over Tri-Valley early Friday morning. No reports have been made whether or not there were two pots of gold at the end of those rainbows...

What causes a double rainbow? The two rainbows appear "when refracted light does not escape the raindrop after being reflected the first time," according to weather.com. The first rainbow is considered the "primary rainbow" and the secondary displays the reverse colors of the primary rainbow due to the unique refraction.
