Downed Trees Reported Throughout Dublin After High Winds
The city said it is responding to an overwhelming number of reports.

DUBLIN, CA ? Dublin saw an ?overwhelming? number of downed trees and branches from a storm that brought gusts of up to 50 mph to the city Tuesday.
?Due to the overwhelming number of downed trees and branches from the storm, the City of Dublin's maintenance staff is working overtime trying to clear all debris from our roads, sidewalks, medians, and parks,? the city wrote on its Instagram page. ?Please be patient if you encounter debris on a path; staff will be by to clear each thoroughfare as soon as possible.?
Winds are gusting at 20 mph in Dublin as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the city and much of the Bay Area remain under a High Wind Warning until 11 p.m. Tuesday. Gusts of up to 83 mph were reported on Mt. Diablo, and the fastest recorded gusts were around lunchtime on top of Loma Pieta, on the border of Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties, according to a Bay Area News Group report.

Residents are asked to report downed trees to Dublin Police Services? non-emergency line at 925-462-1212. If you see downed power lines, call 911.
Eastbound Dublin Boulevard was closed at Civic Plaza due to a downed tree at the roadway near the Dublin Sports Grounds, but the road has reopened.

Dublin was not hit with mass power outages like its neighboring communities in Danville, Pleasanton and Livermore were. Danville saw an outage that affected 4300 customers at its peak and decreased to 2500; Pleasanton was hit with an outage affecting over 6000 customers, and Livermore was affected by outage affecting 3300 customers. As of 6 p.m., most customers in Livermore had power restored, but large outages remained in Pleasanton and Danville.
Across the Bay Area, an estimated 155,000 customers lost power around midday, according to PG&E.
Fallen trees were reported across the Tri-Valley. In Livermore, one resident told Patch he saw a fallen tree on every other block. A tree fell on an apartment building and badly damaged the building and its carport; on top of a water tower; and in the middle of city intersections.
Winds are expected to gust up to 15 mph Wednesday in Dublin, but no more rain is expected until Friday. Rain will resume Sunday and continue into Monday and Tuesday.
