Joe Mello started playing baseball when he was 8 years old.

A Dublin High graduate was recently signed with the Seattle Mariners after throwing for them at Safeco Field in Washington.
Headfirst Baseball Academy owner Michael Iglesias says 22-year-old Joe Mello started playing baseball when he was 8 years old.
“He went to Dublin High School, Oregon State, and Lewis & Clark State College,” Iglesias told Patch. “Mello went through major arm injury and bounced back. He threw 97 mph for our team in the summer.”
