Dublin High School Student Wins Poetry Out Loud Competition
Dublin High senior Sharanya Stanley read Philip Levine's poem "My Brother, The Artist, At Seven."

A Dublin High School student won the Alameda County Poetry Out Loud competition on Wednesday, the Contra Costa Times reports.
Sharanya Stanley, a senior, read Philip Levine's poem "My Brother, The Artist, At Seven." Stanley beat three contestants in two rounds of poetry recitation.
The Dublin High student will now compete at the state level and if she wins there will have a chance to compete in the national finals in Washington, D.C., from April 28 to 30.

After the competition, Stanley told the Times:
I'm really excited; I did not think this was gonna happen...There will be a Facebook status by tonight and then I'll be letting all my friends know at school.
