Dublin Schools, Teachers Reach Agreement For Upcoming School Year
The agreement includes pay raises, more prep time and better benefits, the district announced.
DUBLIN, CA — The Dublin Unified School District reached a tentative agreement with its teachers union for the 2021 to 2024 school years.
The agreement with the Dublin Teachers Association was approved at Tuesday's Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting. Now it heads to union members for ratification.
The Dublin Teachers Association "is excited to have reached an agreement for the next 3-year contract,” union President Robbie Kreitz said in a statement from the school district. “We have made vigorous in-roads toward health benefits ... [and] secured some long-standing side letters into permanent contract language. "

Dublin Teachers Association members will receive the following benefits under the new agreement, according to the district.
- Pay raises: 2 percent ongoing salary schedule increase.
- Prep time: Elementary school teachers will receive another biweekly prep period — 90 in total.
- Better benefits: The district will contribute 75 percent of Kaiser Health Care's single-party annual premium for those who receive health care through the district. It will also contribute 20.5 percent of Kaiser Health Care's single-party annual premium as a cash incentive for members who do not receive health care through the district.
School board President Dan Cherrier affirmed the board's support for staff health and wellness and said, "We are excited that staff has found a way to fill this gap in our offering."

“This last year has reminded all of us about the importance of having access to affordable healthcare," he said.
“Negotiations are never easy, but these team members were able to clear some major hurdles in a short period of time," said interim Superintendent Daniel Moirao in the statement. "As a result of their hard work, Dublin is an even more attractive location for educators, which makes the goal of providing all students with an exceptional educational experience easier to achieve.”
