Dublin Whole Foods To Remain Open After Coronavirus Cases Surface

DUBLIN, CA — Multiple employees of a Whole Foods Market in Dublin have tested positive for coronavirus, a spokesperson for the supermarket chain said Saturday. The store will remain open and has been deep cleaned, "since the last confirmed diagnosis," Whole Foods confirmed with Patch.

Store officials said they plan to conduct contract tracing and that the store has brought on a third-party to perform a professional deep cleaning and disinfection.

"We support any Team Member who is diagnosed positive or placed in quarantine so they can prioritize their health and stay home. We have rolled out extensive measures to keep people safe in our stores and are diligently following all guidance from local health and food safety authorities," a spokesperson, whose name was not released, told Patch.

Whole Foods could not confirm how many employees had tested positive for the virus. Staff members are eligible for up to two weeks of paid time off if a coronavirus diagnoses is confirmed, according to Whole Foods.

"The safety of our Team Members and customers remains our top priority, which is why we address any confirmed diagnosis in our stores with a comprehensive action plan that includes enhanced cleaning and contact tracing, as well as communicating directly with our Team Members," " a spokesperson wrote in an email.

It was not immediately known when the last diagnoses within the store's personnel was reported.
