DUSD Seeking Applications For School Board

The school board is seeking to appoint a trustee to replace the late Trustee Catherine Kuo and serve until 2022.

DUBLIN, CA — The Dublin Unified School District announced it is accepting applications for people interested in serving as a school board trustee for the Area 3 seat.

The appointed trustee must live within Trustee Area 3, which primarily serves southwest Dublin, and will serve until the next board election in November 2022.

The appointee will replace the late Trustee Catherine Kuo, who was elected in November 2020 to a four year-term.

Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, according to DUSD. The trustee will be appointed May 18, following a special meeting that day during which trustees will interview qualified candidates.

The board decided to appoint an interim trustee last week, a month after Kuo died in a car crash at Fallon Middle School while volunteering at a district event. Kuo was remembered as a devoted Christian, mother and wife who cared deeply about local schools and was a role model to Asian American and Pacific Islander students in Dublin.
