Earthquake Rattles Tri-Valley Early Wednesday Morning

The small earthquake is believed to be centered near Dublin.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 2.8-magnitude earthquake occurred at 1:49 a.m. Wednesday east of Castro Valley near the border of Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

Preliminary data reports the quake was centered at a depth of 7.2 km, or 4.5 miles, near Eden Canyon Road north of Interstate 580 between Castro Valley and Dublin.
