Family of Fallen Deputy Will Get Blue Cleats Worn by Indianapolis Colt from East Bay
The custom cleats were designed to represent the thin blue line symbol used to remember officers killed in the line of duty.
Matt Overton of Tracy, a long snapper who plays for the Indianapolis Colts, will send the blue cleats he wore during his game Thanksgiving night to the family of Stanislaus County deputy recently killed in the line of duty.
Overton said on his Facebook page that he was honored to pay homage to Deputy Dennis Wallace by wearing the custom cleats designed to represent the thin blue line symbol used to remember officers killed in the line of duty.
“LEO's have a selfless & thankless job,” Overton said. “A job that requires much sacrifice & a willingness to face unexpected danger at any moment. They put their lives on the line every time that uniform goes on. They do it for US! My gratitude will forever go out to this hero, his family, his department, LEO's, first responders & military.”
