Dublin's Freebirds World Burrito Abruptly Closed

DUBLIN, CA — Freebirds World Burrito in Dublin has closed. The Texas-based eatery, which offered custom burritos and bowls, opened in January of 2014.

A Freebirds employee said the company closed all but three of its California stores, including the Dublin and Walnut Creek locations, at the beginning of December. Those craving a Freebirds fix can visit them in Vacaville, Sacramento or Roseville.

A new restaurant called Gorditos will eventually open in its place. Signs for the business are already in place and the eatery is hiring, according to a sign in the window. No other information about Gorditos is available.
