Legendary Motorcycle Designer Arlen Ness Dies At 79
"The King of Custom Motorcycles" was surrounded by his family when he died on March 22.
DUBLIN, CA — Motorcycle designer and entrepreneur Arlen Ness died on Friday at the age of 79. The Minnesota native, who became known as the "The King of Custom Motorcycles," owned Arlen Ness Motorcycles in Dublin.
Ness was an icon in the industry, earning multiple awards throughout his lifetime. The custom motorcycle retailer, which is a landmark in Dublin, also features the legendary Arlen Ness Museum.
In a post on the company’s Facebook page, employees of Arlen Ness Motorcycles said their leader was a "visionary" who inspired others. Ness is survived by his wife, Beverly, and their children and grandchildren. Funeral services have not yet been announced.
